SlimBiotics GmbH was founded in 2018 by Austrian entrepreneurs Helmut Essl and Alexander Schütz with the goal of developing plant-derived, clinically-backed biotics and making them available to consumers aiming to maintain a healthy weight, improve body shape and support overall metabolic wellbeing.

Juan Victor Wang Xu, Director of Operations & Strategy and Fabiana Spitz, Director of Business Development are responsible for stewarding the global growth of the brand.

The launch of the SlimBiotics formula represents a new class of biotic offerings originating from plants, allowing Mother Nature to reveal her secrets through novel microbe and micronutrients that have the potential to vastly improve overall human health.

Helmut Essl

CEO, Founder and Partner

Over 10 years at HSO Healthcare, where he founded Astarte, a clinically-documented probiotic formula targeting women’s health. Astarte won several international awards: Probiotic Product of the Year 2019, NIA Awards USA & Europe and finalist in Asia. HSO was acquired by Chr. Hansen in 2020

Previously held roles in the marketing of medical goods, assemblies and hospital equipment, as well as the distribution of pharmaceutical products and food supplements

Director of Business Development

Fabiana has an extensive background in business development and marketing across various industries. As a relationship-oriented sales executive and fluent Spanish speaker, she has cultivated strong connections worldwide to excel her business. Through her extensive professional network, Fabiana has built a portfolio of trailblazing customers looking to secure leadership positions in the health and wellness space

Juan Victor Wang Xu is responsible for stewarding the global growth of the parent company and brand. He most recently worked for Chr. Hansen as business development manager, and from 2016–2020 he was at HSO Health Care GmbH and led global sales and brand growth of Astarte, which Chr. Hansen acquired in 2020. Victor is based in the SlimBiotics headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
